My husband and I have been wanting to go on an international trip for years. We narrowed it down to Japan and Italy, but decided on the beautiful country of Italy because they were hosting this year's World's Fair (Expo2015)! Needless to say, we quickly fell in love with Italia.
We flew into Milan after 24+ hours of travel time. My bum was sore, my right shin was numb, and figuring out the metro system was hard! Thank goodness, we arrived safe and sound in our new home for the next 3 nights.
Immediately after we arrived, we dropped off our things and headed straight for the famous Duomo di Milano. It was the most detailed, intricate, and beautiful cathedral I've ever seen!
The next two days were dedicated to EXPO2015. Over 130 countries participated in the EXPO, centered around the theme of food, the future of food, and sustainability. What an amazing experience it was! Each country represented had their own beautifully designed pavilion. Our favorites were the United Arab Emirates and Japan.
We had such a wonderful time in Milan. Big shout out to Maria and her son(?) from Cafe Maria which was close to the apartment we stayed at. They were so patient with our language barrier, and showed us true hospitality! Also, they served the best cappuccino my hubs has ever had. ;)
